Nishantha Abeysinghe has been appointed to the Board of Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC as the Executive Director/CEO.
He succeeds Senaka Alawattegama who has moved to become Executive Director/CEO at Kelani Valley Plantations PLC.
Abeysinghe counts over 36 years of experience in the plantation sector, having joined as an Assistant Manager under the Sri Lanka State Plantations Corporation in 1988. With the privatisation of the Estates in 1992, he joined Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC of the Hayleys Group. He currently holds the position of Director – Plantations of the company. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia.
