Cabinet Spokesman and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa
The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday approved awarding of a Rs. 2.19 billion contract to Millennium I.T.E.S.P. Ltd., for the supply of an Oracle Exadata XIIM system and related software to Sri Lanka Customs.
The move follows an earlier decision taken at the Cabinet meeting on 21 August 2024 to initiate the procurement process to select a suitable agency for the supply of the system to Sri Lanka Customs.
Accordingly, bids were called under the national competitive bidding process, with three proposals received. Following technical evaluations, only one bidder qualified on technological grounds and the financial proposal of that bidder was subsequently assessed.
“Based on the recommendations of the High-Level Procurement Committee, Cabinet approved awarding the procurement to Millennium I.T.E.S.P. Ltd., for a period of eight years, with the total contract value amounting to Rs. 2,197.96 million,” Cabinet Spokesman and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said at the weekly post-Cabinet meeting media briefing on Tuesday.
The proposal to this effect was submitted by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as the Finance, Planning and Economic Development Minister.
