Melstacorp PLC yesterday said it has marginally reduced its stake in Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC (DCSL) following the sale of two million shares.
It divested the shares on 11 March from its existing holding of 4,250,264,664 shares in DCSL.
The shares were sold at Rs. 59 each, placing the total value of the transaction at approximately Rs. 118 million.
DCSL is the flagship spirits manufacturing subsidiary of the Melstacorp Group and remains one of the group’s largest investments. Despite the divestment, Melstacorp continues to retain overwhelming control of the company with a holding exceeding 92%.
Following the transaction, Melstacorp’s shareholding in DCSL declined slightly from 92.40% to 92.35%.
