Malindu Dairy becomes Southern Province’s Best Entrepreneur

Malindu Dairy (Pvt) Ltd., a leading dairy product manufacturing company in Sri Lanka was honoured as Southern Province’s Best Entrepreneur in Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Category (Large Scale) by the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA). At a recent event organised by the NEDA in partnership with Hambatota District Chamber of Commerce (HDCC), Malindu Dairy Managing Director Manjula Nishantha received the relevant award. Having entered the dairy industry in 1997 as a small-scale company which manufactured yoghurt, Malindu Dairy has since expanded their business by producing several other products. A wide array of Malindu products such as yoghurt, fruit juice, and vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and fruit and nuts flavoured ice cream, are currently available in the market. Malindu products are manufactured with the use of state-of-the-art machinery and 100% fresh cow and buffalo milk and adhering to the prescribed health and safety guidelines. 

They have received many other awards including the Silver Award in the medium-scale dairy and associated products category at the Industrial Excellence Awards organised by the Industrial Development Board (IDB). They have also received various quality certifications such as the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification and ISO 14001 and ISO 22000. Through constant research and development, Malindu Dairy maintains and promotes the high-quality standards of their products. “I am delighted that we have run our business successfully, overcoming challenges encountered in a difficult time that we all had to face. We as entrepreneurs will have to face a lot of challenges in the future too. I urge the authorities to pay attention to these inhibitors.
