Mahesh promoted as Managing Director at Singer Sri Lanka

Mahesh Wijewardene

Executive Director and CEO Mahesh Wijewardene has been promoted as the Managing Director of Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC.

Mahesh was first appointed to the Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC Board on 1 June 2006 and an Executive Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC and its subsidiary companies with effect from 1 November 2018. He is also in the Group Management Committee of Hayleys PLC.

He counts for over 30 years of managerial experience in diverse fields of business.

Wijewardene holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland and received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. He also holds a Diploma in General Management from the Open University of Sri Lanka. He currently serves as Vice President of Sri Lanka Retailers’ Association and a Member of the International Chamber of Commerce – Policy Committee.

He served as the past Chairman of Ceylon Chamber of Commerce – Import Section and Sri Lanka-China Business Council.
