MTI sets up office in Ethiopia to strategise for five SOEs

MTI Consulting’s international and local team members at the launch of the assignment in Addis Ababa

An international team of MTI Consultants has arrived in Addis Ababa, the Capital of Ethiopia, to work on a strategic assessment and strategising of five State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in Ethiopia. 

The project team is led by MTI CEO Hilmy Cader, with team members from Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Rwanda, India, Bahrain, and New Zealand.

Ethiopia’s Public Enterprises Holding and Administration (PEHA) had selected MTI Consulting to conduct an in-depth strategic assessment of Ethiopian Chemical Industry Corporation, Ethiopian Business Trading Corporation, Ethiopian Pulp, and Paper Share Company, The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation, and Berhanena Selam Printing Press.

The scope of the assignment is to carry out an in-depth strategic assessment of selected S0Es under the Public Enterprises Holdings and Administration Agency (PEHAA), further, providing a comprehensive understanding of the current business ecosystem the SOEs are operating and developing business development and directional strategies accordingly. 

The project is funded by Agence Française de Development (AFD).

PEHA formerly known as the Ministry of Public Enterprise was established following the reorganisation of the Federal Government executive organs. 

It was established by The Government of Ethiopia to improve the performance and contribution of SOEs to the Ethiopian economy through competitive commercialisation and the privatisation or partial privatisation of these SOEs.
