Keells Food appoints Aroshi, Shanil to Board

Keells Food Products PLC has announced the appointment of Aroshi Nanayakkara and Shanil Fernando to its Board as Independent Non-Executive Directors.

Nanayakkara is the CEO of the Global Consulting Company and a dynamic leader in the fields of Strategic Planning, HR and Risk Management having gathered extensive experience in multinationals as well as some of Sri Lanka’s prominent blue-chip companies.

Prior to her current role, Nanayakkara worked at ABN AMRO Bank NV, Deutsche Bank, Eagle Insurance, Delmege Group and Brandix Group of Companies where she held the position of Chief Risk Officer and later, CEO at Brandix Hangers Ltd.

Nanayakkara holds a BSc. in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, an MSc. in Management from the London School of Economics, UK and ACMA/ and CGMA qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.

Nanayakkara is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director at Sampath Bank PLC, Asian Hotels and Properties PLC, Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC and Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC. She is the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors, the Vice President of the recently launched Lanka India Business Association and the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors Women Corporate Directors-Sri Lanka Chapter.

Shanil Fernando is a visionary leader with 25 years of experience in the global IT industry. He is a founding member of Virtusa Corporation, where he played pivotal roles such as Chief Technology Officer and the youngest Vice President, overseeing engineering teams across multiple continents. Fernando co-founded and led Sysco Labs, the innovation arm of Sysco (NYSE: SYY), a Fortune 100 company, spearheading cutting-edge technology solutions that processed billions of transactions annually. Currently, Shanil is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Cut+Dry, a Silicon Valley-based platform revolutionising the food service industry by connecting manufacturers, distributors, and restaurants through data and technology.

Fernando’s entrepreneurial spirit extends to Fernando Ventures Ltd., an investment company focused on global real estate and agro-tourism development. Fernando has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Warwick.
