KPMG appoints Sachiru Dayananda as Partner in Sri Lanka

KPMG in Sri Lanka, a member firm of the KPMG network of independent member firms, has appointed Sachiru Dayananda as a Partner of the Firm with effect from 1 June 2026.

Sachiru has 14 years of experience in audit and related services at KPMG which includes a three-year experience at KPMG in Maldives. Throughout his career at KPMG, Sachiru has provided audit and assurance services to a diverse portfolio of industries, including financial services, plantations, manufacturing, telecommunications, aviation, healthcare, and hospitality. His extensive industry exposure has enabled him to develop strong technical expertise and deliver high-quality professional services. His professional background is further strengthened by five years of experience in audit, tax, and advisory services gained prior to joining the Firm.

Over the course of his career, Sachiru has developed extensive expertise in LKAS and SLFRS, managing a broad portfolio of audit and compliance engagements across multiple industries. He has served as the Engagement Manager for statutory audits, quarterly reviews, and other assurance and related engagements of several listed and large entities in Sri Lanka. In this capacity, he has led a number of complex engagements, including the implementation of IFRS 15 – Revenue from Contracts with Customers, IFRS 9 – Financial Instruments, and IFRS 16 – Leases.

Beyond his client responsibilities, Sachiru has demonstrated a strong commitment to the advancement of the accounting profession and the development of future leaders. He has held several notable leadership positions, including President of the CA Students’ Society and Vice President of the Young Chartered Accountants Forum of CA Sri Lanka. He currently serves as the Alternate Chairman of the Sri Lanka Accounting Standards Committee and as a Member of the Sri Lanka Auditing Standards Committee, contributing to the continued development of financial reporting and auditing standards in Sri Lanka.

Sachiru is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
