Top professional Janek Jayasekara has been appointed to the Board of Keells Food Products PLC as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Jayasekara is a Senior Management professional and Chartered Accountant with over 25 years’ experience across banking, financial services and audit, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, retail and distribution, food and beverage, leisure, exports, and construction. He has held key leadership positions including CFO, COO and CEO at diversified groups both in Sri Lanka and internationally.
His career spans senior finance and operational roles at Al Rajhi Bank (Saudi Arabia and Malaysia), Standard Chartered Bank (Sri Lanka), John Keells Holdings, Richard Pieris Group, and Akbar Brothers Group.
Jayasekara holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Colombo and a Master of Science in Finance and Accounting from the UK. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and CPA Australia, and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).
In addition to his corporate roles, Jayasekara serves on the Board of the International Chamber of Commerce, Sri Lanka. He is also the Honorary Treasurer of the Ceylonese Rugby and Football Club and the Alumni Association of the University of Colombo. He actively contributes to various professional bodies, including the Corporate Governance Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and other voluntary organisations.
