Hayleys Fibre announces Rajeeve Goonetilleke as new MD

Rajeeve Goonetilleke has been appointed as the Managing Director of Hayleys Fibre Plc with effect from 15 September. He will be succeeding H.S.R. Kariyawasam.

Goonetilleke holds a B.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Moratuwa, and M. Eng (Industrial Engineering) from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. 

He is a professional in organisational leadership with a career spanning over 25 years in multinational and local blue-chip companies; in Sri Lanka and overseas. He possesses experience in leadership positions with proven general and operations management skills including financial budgeting, execution and business turnaround. 

Goonetilleke has worked in areas of project management, supply chain leadership, operations and manufacturing management and financial management. As Supply Chain Director of GSK Sri Lanka he was instrumental in transforming two sites to localise key products of GSK at the time. He received the GSK – India Subcontinent Functional Excellence Award for Supply Chain in year 2014. 

He has worked as Head of Engineering of Shadowline Ltd. and General Manager of Fashionline Saigon Ltd., Vietnam. His latest appointment was with Brandix Solutions Ltd., where he served as CEO of one of the companies in the apparel cluster.

Hayleys Fibre in FY21 achieved a revenue of Rs. 2 billion and a pre-tax profit of Rs. 259 million. It has assets worth Rs. 2.33 billion.
