Sri Lanka’s finance and investment community is set to gain invaluable expertise in impact investing with the arrival of Robert Webster, a globally recognised impact-investing fund manager and adviser, who will lead a two-day Impact-Investment Executive Immersion Program on 9–10 February 2026 at Shangri-La Colombo.

The Executive Immersion Program will serve as a strategic lead-in to the Lanka Impact Investing Forum, Sri Lanka’s flagship national platform for sustainable finance and impact-driven capital mobilisation, scheduled immediately thereafter.

Webster brings over two decades of experience across emerging and frontier markets, where he has led impact finance initiatives, blended finance solutions, and capital mobilisation efforts for small and medium enterprises. His work spans fund structuring, due diligence, impact strategy development, and deal execution across Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.

Organised by the Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN) in partnership with GSG Sri Lanka, the Executive Immersion Program is supported by the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented with the engagement of World University Service of Canada (WUSC) as part of broader efforts to strengthen inclusive and sustainable finance ecosystems in Sri Lanka.

The program is designed to equip senior finance professionals—from commercial banks, investment firms, development finance institutions, and other financial intermediaries—with practical tools and frameworks to integrate social and environmental impact into investment decision-making.

“Impact investing presents a powerful opportunity to align capital with purpose,” said the organisers. “Through curated learning sessions, interactive exercises, and peer collaboration, participants will gain insights into impact-focused financial strategies tailored to the Sri Lankan context and directly applicable to real investment portfolios.”

The two-day program will cover comparative principles of traditional and impact finance, practical application of impact measurement frameworks, real-world case studies, and actionable approaches to mainstreaming impact across institutional portfolios. Upon completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion in Impact Investing for Finance Professionals, jointly endorsed by LIIN and GSG Sri Lanka.

Participation in the Executive Immersion Program will also provide participants with a strong foundation to engage meaningfully in the Lanka Impact Investing Forum, where global investors, development finance institutions, policymakers, and investment-ready enterprises will convene to unlock new impact investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.

Registrations are open for finance leaders keen on driving sustainable capital allocation and fostering a more inclusive economic future.
