France assures unwavering support for SL’s debt restructuring process

State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe stated yesterday that France’s unwavering support for the debt restructuring process has been guaranteed by France’s ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Jean-François Pactet. 

“We engaged in discussions regarding the progress achieved in the debt restructuring process and assured France’s unwavering support,” he said via ‘X’.

Semasinghe said exchanged perspectives on the future financial collaboration between the Governments of Sri Lanka and France.

 “It was emphasised that France will continue its constructive engagement with the Official Creditor Committee to reinforce debt sustainability in Sri Lanka,” he added.

The State Minister also said the Ambassador commended the Government’s dedicated efforts and the implemented reforms agenda aimed at fostering the stability of the Sri Lankan economy.
