Elshaddai Enterprises and Jayasuriya Associates secure Govt. contracts to supply contact lenses for eye surgeries

The Cabinet of Ministers at their meeting on Tuesday approved two local companies—Elshaddai Enterprises Ltd., and Jayasuriya Associates to supply five categories of contact lenses used in cataract removal and myopia implantation surgeries, following a competitive international bidding process.

Quotations for the supply were invited under the international competitive bidding process, with five bidders submitting their offers.

Elshaddai Enterprises was identified as the lowest substantively responsive bidder and was awarded the contracts to supply lenses for procurement reference numbers SR No. 13005029 and 13005032. Similarly, Jayasuriya Associates was awarded the supply contracts for procurement reference numbers SR No. 13005026, 13005031, and 13005030, also being the lowest substantively responsive bidder for those categories.

The decision was made based on the recommendations of the higher-level standing procurement committee, with the aim of ensuring the continued provision of critical eye care surgical supplies within the public health system.

The proposal to this effect submitted by Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
