EDB hosts networking session for new and potential exporters

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) recently hosted a networking session aimed at equipping new and prospective exporters with the knowledge and connections needed to succeed in international markets.

A large number of entrepreneurs preparing to enter the export sector participated in the session, during which experienced industry professionals shared valuable insights essential for successful export operations.

Key topics discussed included participation in international trade fairs, export market research, building trust with international buyers, effective communication strategies and meeting global quality standards.

Addressing the participants, EDB Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mangala Wijesinghe stated that the Sri Lanka Export Development Board is working diligently to make 2026 a more prosperous year for exporters.

Several industry experts shared their experiences and expertise, including Rancrisp Marketing Managing Director Samantha Thamel, Malwatte Valley Plantations Executive Director Christopher Fernando, C. R. Exports Chairman Dr. Upali Ranasinghe, Aquatic Exports Consultant Udayakantha Wickramasinghe, and People’s Organization for Development of Import & Export (PODIE) Managing Director Tyrell Delukshan Fernando. 

EDB officials, including Trade Information and Trade Facilitation Division Director Dr. Sanjeewa Ratnasekara also participated in the session.
