D & R Exports wins Silver Award at NCE Export Awards

D & R Exports, a Sri Lankan exporter of quality food products to the global market, won a silver award at the medium scale category at the Annual NCE Export Awards. 

The gala award ceremony organised by the National Chamber of Exporters was held at Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo. The company was established in 1993 as Araliya Impex and carried out its operations as Araliya Exports. In 2013, the company changed its name to D & R Exports. The company exports to a number of countries including Australia, Dubai, Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom, France, Cyprus, Qatar, and Kuwait and has won ISO 9001:2008, ISO 9001:2022, HSSAP, and GMP certifications. 

D & R Exports Chief Executive Officer M. Rajkumar commenting on the award, said that he is grateful for the staff, suppliers, buyers and the People’s Bank. “We continued to export during COVID ensuring that the livelihoods of our workers are secure,” he further stated. “We want to create an export market for those who produce food items at home. A number of producers from Jaffna are working with us,” D & R Exports Chairperson Manel Rajkumar said.

Among the most popular products by the company, which are made according to recipes by Chairperson of the institution, Manel Rajkumar, are Sambol (coconut, katta, shrimp, dried onion, Maldive fish and lunu miris), Bedum (cashew, bitter gourd, brinjal, breadfruit and dried fish), Pickles (Malay, Sinhala, polos, banana blossom and Ceylon olives), Sauces (green chili, tomato, mustard and chili), Jams (wood apple, pineapple, mango), Pastes (chili, prawns, tamarind and garcinia), Curry Mix (mutton, beef, fish, crab, embul thiyal, biriyani, yellow rice), Bottled Cooked Food (embarella, chicken, mutton, beef, polos, mango, jack fruit seed, kalu-pol, Thai eggplant, eggplant), Tinned Uncooked Food (polos, jack fruit, innala, ash-plantain, ambarella, and bread fruit), Chutneys (ambarella, pineapple, dates and lime), Syrups (puhul, ginger and chaw chaw), Creams (wood apple and mustard), rice, indigenous rice, spices, chili, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, Jaffna curry powder, aluwa, sesame balls, jaggery, treacle, dried fish, fruit juices and many more. These products are made without artificial flavouring.
