Chinthaka Jayaweera has joined the Boards of Bukit Darah PLC, Carson Cumberbatch PLC, Equity Two PLC, and Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Chinthaka Jayaweera was Vice President and Chief Internal Audit Executive at A.P. Moller Maersk Group with the overall responsibility for providing independent assurance on Governance, Risk Management, Internal Controls and Compliance.
Prior to this role, he was a member of the Global Finance Leadership Team of Maersk Line with the responsibility for Global Finance Operations. His career at Maersk spans over 28 years with various global leadership positions.
He was based at the Head Office in Denmark for over 21 years. Prior to moving to Denmark, he was the Country Manager for Maersk Logistics – Sri Lanka and Maldives. Started his career at KPMG and was subsequently at Vanik Incorporation before joining Maersk and he had held Independent Non-Executive roles in family trusts set-up for high net-worth families.
He holds a Global Executive MBA from TRIUM (comprising of London School of Economics and Political Science, New York University Stern School of Business and HEC School of Management Paris).
He has also attended Leadership Programs at Harvard Business School and INSEAD. He is a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK and a Member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing – UK.
