China XD Group ready to invest in 200 MW renewable energy plant

China XD Group, the largest State-owned power transmission line equipment manufacturing company in China, visited Sri Lanka to explore opportunity in renewable energy.

China XD Asia Business Development Head Tao and his team along with Powerdrive Technologies Ltd. CEO Chinthaka and Media Coordinator Upul Jayasinghe met Minister of Industrial Export and Investment Promotion and Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Prasanna Ranathunga on 16 January.

After the successful discussion China XD expressed its interest in a 200 MW renewable energy power plant, contributing to the national policy on renewable energy. Further the group is interested in establishing a transmission line equipment manufacturing facility.
