  • Attend GSG Impact Leadership Meeting in Amsterdam

GSG Impact Sri Lanka and the Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN) Founder and Chairman Chandula Abeywickrema represented Sri Lanka at the GSG Impact Global Leadership Meeting, held in Amsterdam from 15 to 17 September 2026.

Hosted by the Netherlands Advisory Board on Impact Investing (NAB), with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and Amsterdam Impact, this year’s meeting took place at the Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West. Over three days, GSG Impact’s National Partners, Strategic Partners and wider stakeholders, active in more than 50 countries, explored the impact economy approach across topics ranging from capital mobilisation to policy and market transformation.

GSG Impact works by creating, accrediting and supporting national impact institutions, known as National Partners. Each brings together leaders from business, finance, the non-profit sector and government to advance impact investing in its own country. GSG Impact’s network now spans 49 National Partners covering two-thirds of the world’s population, more than half of them in emerging markets, with more in development. Sri Lanka joined the network five years ago as its 39th National Partner.

Abeywickrema is a banking, finance and insurance professional with more than 40 years of experience and a track record across Asia in financial inclusion, building social enterprise ecosystems and developing the impact investing landscape. He is the founder of LIIN, Sri Lanka’s first impact investing network, and of the Social Entrepreneur Fund. As one of the leaders of GSG Impact’s global National Partner network, he plays a central role in attracting global impact investment funds to Sri Lanka to support social and impact entrepreneurs across the country.

Abeywickrema confirmed “Amsterdam brought together the people shaping how capital is put to work for social and environmental good. Sri Lanka has a place in that conversation, and GSG Impact Sri Lanka will keep working to bring global impact capital to entrepreneurs here who are solving real problems.”

During the meeting, Abeywickrema met GSG Impact Chair Sir Ronald Cohen and joined fellow impact investing leaders from South Asia and Asia Pacific.
