The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has announced that the 26th Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit (SLEIS) will be held on 12 and 13 October, with this year’s edition set to focus on economic growth, competitiveness, investment and structural reforms as the country navigates the next phase of its recovery.

The Summit, regarded as one of Sri Lanka’s leading economic policy forums, will bring together policymakers, business leaders, development partners, academics and international experts to discuss priorities shaping the country’s economic future.

According to the Chamber, preparations for the event are underway, with engagements progressing with local and international speakers, diplomatic missions, development partners and private sector stakeholders. The Chamber said interest in the 2026 Summit reflects continued confidence in the platform as a forum for

dialogue on key economic issues.

This year’s program will examine a broad range of policy and business themes, including economic resilience, productivity, trade, investment, sustainability and the evolving global economic landscape. Discussions will also explore how Sri Lanka can strengthen integration with Asian growth markets through trade and regional value chains while advancing fiscal and structural reforms.

Other sessions will focus on healthcare, energy security, digital transformation, education and skills development, as well as the opportunities and challenges arising from artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

The 2025 Summit attracted more than 850 participants and featured over 40 local and international speakers, with delegates representing more than 20 countries. The event brought together Government representatives, private sector leaders, diplomats, development agencies and researchers.

The Chamber said interest from regional business communities had strengthened following a series of international outreach initiatives, including a recent business delegation to Mumbai that generated interest among Indian businesses and investors seeking greater engagement with Sri Lanka.

For more than two decades, the Summit has served as a platform for discussion on economic policy, investment, competitiveness and reform, helping shape conversations around Sri Lanka’s long-term growth agenda.
