Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia’s Anthony Yong joins Lion board

Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC yesterday announced the appointment of Anthony Yong as Non-Executive Director of the company.

Yong is the Chief Financial Officer of Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Berhad and Carlsberg Marketing Sdn. Bhd. Prior to this, he was the Chief Financial Officer (Malaysia) of XCL Education Group.

He has held several senior finance positions in British American Tobacco, including as a Chief Financial Officer/Finance Director (Malaysia and Singapore) and Corporate Finance Controller (Southeast Asia).

Yong started his career as an auditor (Malaysia and San Francisco, USA) in KPMG and moved on to British American Tobacco in 2000, Lhoist in 2015, and again joined British American Tobacco thereafter. He has worked in Malaysia and other countries such as Bangladesh and Switzerland.

He is professionally accredited in finance by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
