The Cabinet of Ministers at their meeting on Tuesday approved awarding the contract to install a new State loan management software within the system within the Department of External Resources.
The move follows a decision taken on 14 October 2024 by the Cabinet of Ministers to source bids from the Commonwealth Secretariat through a direct procurement process.
The Commonwealth Secretariat subsequently submitted a proposal which was evaluated by both the Bid Evaluation Committee and High-Level Standing Procurement Committee. Based on their recommendations, the Cabinet has approved the installation of the Commonwealth Meridian software system with an annual maintenance fee of 12,500 British Sterling Pounds.
The proposal to this effect, submitted by President Anura Kumara Disanayake in his capacity as the Finance, Planning and Economic Development Minister, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
