CSE green lights Rs. 5 b Aitken Spence Hotel Holdings debenture issue

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) yesterday approved in principle an application by Aitken Spence Hotel Holdings PLC to list up to Rs. 5 billion worth of listed, rated, unsecured, senior, redeemable debentures.

The company will initially issue up to 30 million debentures of Rs. 100 par value each, comprising five-year (2026/2031) and seven-year (2026/2033) tenors, to raise Rs. 3 billion. The company has the option to issue a further 20 million debentures in the event of an oversubscription, raising the total to a maximum of Rs. 5 billion.

The debentures will be offered across four types. Type A carries a fixed interest rate of 13% per annum with annual interest payments, while Type B offers 12.60% per annum on a semi-annual basis, both yielding an annual effective rate of 13%. Type C, a seven-year instrument, carries a fixed rate of 13.15% per annum paid annually, while Type D offers 12.74% per annum semi-annually, both yielding an annual effective rate of 13.15%.

The subscription list is scheduled to open on 15 September, 2026. Capital Alliance Partners Ltd., is the manager to the issue, while Central Depository Systems Ltd., will serve as registrars.
