The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) will formally induct its 28th President, Tishan Subasinghe, a distinguished Chartered Accountant, at a ceremony to be held this evening (20 January) at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo.
The event will be graced by International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) President Jean Bouquot as Chief Guest, underscoring CA Sri Lanka’s global standing and its unwavering commitment to professional excellence. The ceremony will also welcome Supreme Court Justice and President’s Counsel Justice Yasantha Kodagoda, as Guest of Honour.
Bouquot arrived in the country on Sunday, following a special invitation extended to him by CA Sri Lanka. During his stay in Colombo, he is scheduled to engage in high-level discussions with senior government officials, and representatives of local professional accounting bodies, focusing on matters of public interest, professional standards, and the future of the accounting profession.
IFAC is the global organisation for the accountancy profession, dedicated to serving the public interest by strengthening the profession and contributing to strong economies through the development and implementation of high-quality international standards in ethics, education, and auditing. IFAC represents over three million accountants worldwide including in Sri Lanka.
CA Sri Lanka holds the distinction of being the first professional accounting organisation in Sri Lanka to obtain IFAC membership in 1978.
During his two-year tenure, Subasinghe will collaborate closely with IFAC to strengthen the standing of CA Sri Lanka as a leading voice in the international stage.
