Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide appoints new Chairman, Directors

Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC has appointed R.J.A.M.S. Arshan as Chairman of the Board, while Sivakumar Ramabhadra and Balachandran Niransan have been appointed as Independent Non-Executive Directors.

Arshan is a projects, business consulting, operations, sales and marketing professional with over 25 years of experience across government projects and private-sector industrial businesses.

He most recently served as a Projects Consultant to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority and has held senior positions including Director – Logistics and Operations at Massline International Ltd., Senior Manager – Sales, Marketing and Projects at Magline Switchboards Ltd., and Senior Manager – Industrial Projects and Corporate at OREL Corporation.

His qualifications include a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa; a B.Sc. (Honours)/Higher Education qualification from the University of Portsmouth/SQA, UK; a Diploma in Business Higher Management; higher education studies in Business Management; a Higher National Diploma in Computing from SYSCOMES, UAE/SQA, UK; a Diploma in Computing with Second Class Honours (Lower Division) from SYSCOMES, UAE; an Advanced Diploma in Information Technology; a Diploma in Business Management from the British Council, Colombo; a Diploma in English; and a Junior Diploma in Information Technology from SYSCOMES, UAE.

He is also a member of the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Computer Vendor Association. Arshan possesses extensive expertise in project consulting, industrial project management, business development, corporate account management, logistics, operations, tender management, commercial negotiation and stakeholder coordination. His broad project, operational and commercial experience will strengthen the Board’s strategic planning, business-development and project-oversight capabilities.

Ramabhadra is a senior finance professional with over 49 years of experience across manufacturing, trading, exports, shipping, construction, software, medical devices, property management and other sectors. He has held senior positions including Senior Accountant, Group Finance Controller, Financial Controller, Group Chief Accountant, and Finance Manager in organisations including Kelani Cables PLC, the MJF Group, Ceylon and Foreign Trades PLC and Sun Cables Ltd.

He holds an MBA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management from the University of Northampton. He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and the Institute of Financial Accountants (UK), and an Associate Member of the Institute of Professional Financial Managers (UK) and the Association of Accounting Technicians (UK).

Ramabhadra possesses extensive expertise in financial and cost accounting, budgeting, treasury operations, taxation, internal controls, audit coordination, statutory compliance, ERP implementation and general administration. His substantial financial, regulatory and operational experience will contribute significantly to the Board’s governance, financial oversight and strategic decision-making.

Niransan is a finance, banking, audit and consultancy professional with over 19 years of experience.

He is the Founder and Principal Consultant of BN Associates – Chartered Accountants, and previously served as a Relationship Manager at NDB Bank, Assistant Branch Manager at Pan Asia Bank, and Auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has also lectured in Economics and Financial Management for CIMA students and taught Advanced Level Economics.

He holds a B.Sc. Special Degree in Finance from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka. He also holds a Diploma in Credit Management from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.

Niransan possesses strong expertise in accounting, taxation, auditing, credit evaluation, banking, risk management and financial consultancy. His combined professional experience in audit, banking and advisory services will add considerable value to the Board’s financial oversight, risk assessment, governance and strategic decision-making processes.
