Bharti Airtel’s Tarun Kumar joins Dialog Axiata Board

Tarun Kumar has been appointed as a Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director to the Board of Dialog Axiata PLC, with effect from 31 July 2026.

Tarun Kumar is the National Head – Sales and Distribution at Bharti Airtel and also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamil Nadu Circle. He has over 22 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including more than five years in CXO leadership roles, with experience in leading large-scale businesses and driving strategic growth across diverse markets.

Kumar’s experience spans sales, marketing, distribution, product management, and commercial operations, with expertise in business strategy, Profit and Loss (P&L) leadership, digital transformation, strategic partnerships, and organisational development. He has a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering sustainable business outcomes through disciplined execution and customer-focused leadership.

Kumar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and an MBA in Marketing, complemented by executive education in strategy and innovation. He brings deep industry expertise and strategic insight to support sound governance, sustainable growth, and long-term value creation for stakeholders.

As of 31 March 2026, Axiata Investments (Labuan) Ltd., was the largest shareholder with a 73.75% stake, followed by Bharti Airtel Ltd., with 10.36% and the Employees’ Provident Fund (2.79%).
