Bahrain Chambers to assist Sri Lanka in trade and investment

Sri Lanka Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Pradeepa Saram met with Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman Sameer Nass at Bait Al Tijjar on 7 January.

The meeting hailed the cordial bilateral relations that exist between the two countries and underscored the importance of stepping up business cooperation, encouraging partnerships, and invigorating trade and investment. 

During the interactions, Ambassador Saram pointed out that the volume of trade between Bahrain and Sri Lanka has increased substantially during the past few years and requested the members of the Bahrain Chambers to gear up for the upcoming possibilities in importing more products from Sri Lanka.

The meeting also touched upon development projects in both countries and their prospective economic impact. Nass reinstated the keenness of Bahrain Chamber in consolidating efforts with the Embassy in all endeavours that aim at bolstering business between both sides, particularly in light of the favourable business ecosystem both countries enjoy and the privileges offered to foreign investors. 

In response Ambassador Saram highlighted the encouraging incentives provided by Sri Lanka to foreign investors to boost trade and investment activities and requested Bahraini investors and business owners to partner with their Sri Lankan counterparts to invest in the major national and service projects in Sri Lanka. 

BCCI Vice Treasurer Waleed Kanoo, CEO Shaker Al Shater and Deputy CEO Dr. Abdulla Al Sada were also present at the meeting.
