Avissawella Tea Factory wins first place in North American Tea competition

Avissawella Tea Factory won the 1st place at the North American Tea competition 2022 for Orthodox Black Tea category FBOP grade.

This factory has previously won the second place in year 2012 and year 2013 at the same competition.

RTS group of companies manage Avissawella tea factory which is situated in the Avissawella Industrial Zone. 

The vision of the RTS group is to actively foster Sri Lanka’s image as one of the global leaders in Tea manufacturing to the international tea markets.

Avissawella Tea factory is fed predominantly through bought leaf crop and with approximately 6000 small holders in addition to a few tea plantations. 

This Factory is a state-of-the-art tea factory which follows high end of tea manufacturing processes.

RTS group has nine subsidiaries inclusive of two tea factories Avissawella and Hidellana, Three Hotels and several plantations.
