Related companies ACME Printing and Packaging PLC, CM Holdings PLC and York Arcade Holdings PLC have appointed Arjuna Samaratunga to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Samaratunga held the position of Country Finance Director PT.Alliance One Indonesia and PT.Indonesia Tri Sembilan subsidiaries of Alliance One International head quartered in the US from October 2012 to January 2024.
He was responsible for heading finance, human resources, information technology, company secretarial, regulatory affairs and corporate governance and compliance and was also the global team lead for ESG Governance Pillar.
Prior to joining Alliance One, he has worked at INTABAX Lanka Ltd., Paradigm Clothing Company Ltd., Union Apparels Ltd., Trend Setters Ltd., Odel PLC and ID Lanka Ltd., where he has held the positions of Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director.
He brings over 40 years of extensive corporate experience demonstrating business leadership, executive management and expertise in the Plantation sectors, Garment manufacturing and the Retail sector in Sri Lanka and overseas. He commenced his career at Ford Rhodes Thornton and Company (KPMG) and later moved to Price Waterhouse Coopers where he received his early training in Finance and Assurance. He is a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
He has also specialised in Micro finance in the plantation sectors dealing with out-grower systems both locally and overseas. Coming from a Finance background, his special area of expertise extends to Human Resources and Information Technology, Compliance and ESG.
