Glenanore Estate excels once again

Glenanore Estate continues to showcase its outstanding capabilities in manufacturing the highest quality of ‘Ceylon Tea’ by achieving an all-time record price of Rs. 2,250 per kg for an OP grade surpassing its own record of Rs. 2,200 per kg for the same grade in the Uva High Grown Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 July 2022.

This Estate, which was established in the year 1892, is situated in Haputale at an elevation of 1,372 metres, in the Uva agro-climatic district. Glenanore Estate is ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP certified ensuring good quality standards are met in the production process.

Glenanore Estate is managed by Agarapatana Plantations Ltd. under the stewardship of Senior Manager Gayan Wijesekara.



Craighead Estate shines with two all-time record prices

Craighead Estate, situated in the Kandy District, achieved two all-time record prices in the Western Medium Grown category at the weekly online tea auctions held on 26/27 July 2022.

  • BOP Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,700 per kg 
  • BOPFSp Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,300 per kg

This Estate which is ISO 22000:2018 certified has maintained consistent standards over the years in manufacturing high-quality Orthodox Leafy teas in the respective region.

Craighead Estate is managed by Kahawatte Plantation PLC under the stewardship of Director Plantations Chaminda Gunarathna and Estate Manager Abhishek Samarakoon.

Craighead teas are exclusively sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.



Queensberry Estate continues to excel

Queensberry Estate situated in the Dimbula planting district achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,450 per kg for a BOPSp grade surpassing its own record of Rs. 2,300 per kg for the same grade in the Western High Grown category at the weekly online tea auctions held on 26/27 July 2022.

This estate is situated at an elevation of 1,300 metres above sea level and has maintained a consistent standard over the years with ISO 22000:2018 and Rainforest Alliance certification for manufacturing high-quality orthodox leafy tea in the respective region. 

Queensberry Estate is managed by Kahawatte Plantation PLC under the stewardship of Director Plantations Chaminda Gunarathna and Estate Manager Prageeth Wanigasekera.

Queensberry teas are exclusively sold and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.



Dickwella establishes all-time record price

 

Dickwella Estate under the selling mark of ‘St. James,’ achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,600 per kg for a PEK1 grade in the Uva Medium Grown category at the weekly online Tea Auctions held on 26/27 July 2022.

This Estate is located at an elevation of 1,230 metres above sea level in Hali Ella and was commissioned in 1934. It is synonymous with Uva teas and has continuously produced high-quality seasonal teas during the Uva season. This Estate is ISO 22000:2005 Management System Certified for Manufacture of Black Tea.

Dickwella Estate is managed by Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC under the stewardship of the Group Manager Chaminda Perera and veteran Factory Head A.M. Shajahan.

 

Dunsinane Estate sets another all-time record price

Dunsinane Estate, situated in Punduloya achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 1,400 per kg for a BP1 grade surpassing its own record of Rs. 1,100 per kg for the same grade in the Western High Grown CTC category at the weekly online Tea Auctions held on 26/27 July 2022.

This Estate is situated in the Dimbula Planting district at an elevation of 1,400 metres above sea level and is Rainforest Alliance, ISO 22000 – food, safety and hygiene management standard certified.

Dunsinane Estate is managed by Elpitiya Plantations under the stewardship of Asela Udumullage. 



Moragalla Estate achieves all-time record price

Moragalla Estate, situated in Imaduwa, Galle achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,050 per kg for a BOP1A grade in the Off Grade category at the weekly online Tea Auctions held on 26/27 July 2022.

This Estate situated in the Galle District consists of 400 hectares of lush tea gardens at an elevation of 38 metres above sea level. The estate is ISO 22000 – food, safety and hygiene management standard certified and ensures high quality standard are met throughout the production process.

Moragalla Estate is managed by Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC, a part of the Hayleys Group of Companies under the stewardship of Kalana de Silva. 



New Deniyaya Tea Factory establishes two all-time record prices 

New Deniyaya Tea Factory achieved two all-time record prices in the Low Grown Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 26/27 July 2022 for the following grades. 

 

  • FBOPBExSp Grade recorded a price of Rs. 10,450 per kg
  • FBOPFExSp1 Grade recorded price of Rs. 10,050 per kg

New Deniyaya Tea Factory which is situated in Morawakkorale, is renowned for its breath-taking landscape and exquisitely manufactured Low Grown tea. It consists of 333 hectares of splendid tea bushes at the foothills of the eminent Sinharaja Rainforest.

This factory is renowned for having manufactured some of the island’s best Low Grown teas and is ISO 22000:2018 and Rainforest Alliance certified. This remarkable achievement is owing to the spirited efforts and dedication of the Manager, K.M.N. Prasan and the operational staff of New Deniyaya Tea Factory.

New Deniyaya Tea Factory is managed by Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC, a part of the Hayleys Group of Companies.
