Ajith De Silva, appointed to the Associated Battery Manufacturers (ABM) board

Ajith De Silva, Cluster Chief Operating Officer, Automotive and Hardware Cluster of Browns Group was appointed as a Director to the Associated Battery Manufacturers (ABM) Ceylon Ltd. with effect from 1 June. ABM is the local manufacturer of Exide, Lucas and Dagenite automotive batteries in Sri Lanka. 

During his illustrious career, he has worked in numerous fields and presently holds several responsibilities at Browns Group. At present, he manages three strategic business units at Browns, the battery division, general trading division and Browns Thermal Engineering Ltd. 

 De Silva is a dynamic Sri Lankan corporate professional who hails from a sales and marketing background. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in mathematics and physics (B.Sc.), Master of Business Studies (MBS) and Master of Business Administration in marketing (MBA) from the University of Colombo (UOC). Moreover, he had taken part in a general management program conducted by the National University of Singapore.  At present, he is reading for his Bachelor of Laws degree at the Open University of Colombo. 

De Silva serves as the President of the Browns Group Sports Club as well as the Vice President of the Mercantile Hockey Association. He is also an active member of the Colombo University, MBA Alumni Association.
