Agalawatte Plantations appoints industry veteran Manoj Udugampola to Board of Directors

Agalawatte Plantations PLC has announced the appointment of Manoj Udugampola to its Board of Directors, effective from 8 May 2025.

With over 33 years of dedicated service in the plantation industry, Udugampola brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and strategic vision to the organisation.

Currently he is serving as a Director of Damro Holdings Ltd., and Marino Leisure Holdings Ltd. His deep-rooted involvement in the plantation and rubber sectors is further highlighted by his role as a Director of the Rubber Research Board of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Society of Rubber Industry.

Beginning his career in 1992 as a Trainee Assistant Superintendent under the Janatha Estates Development Board (JEBD), he transitioned to Pussellawa Plantations Ltd., (PPL) following the estate privatisation later that year. Over the decades, Manoj has established himself as a seasoned professional, making significant contributions to the development of the rubber and plantation industry of Sri Lanka.

Manoj holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wayamba and also has obtained a specialised training from the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ITC/ILO) in Turin, Italy. He is a Fellow Member of both the National Institute of Plantations Management (NIPM) and the Plastics and Rubber Institute of Sri Lanka (PRISL).

In addition to his current leadership roles, Manoj served as the Chairman of the Colombo Rubber Traders’ Association (CRTA) in 2022/23 and 2023/24, further demonstrating his commitment to industry advancement. His extensive career includes executive committee memberships, advisory roles, and leadership in curriculum development, showcasing his multifaceted expertise.
