UGC extends university registration deadline for 2020

The University Grants Commission (UGC) today extended the deadline for university registrations for qualified students to 9 April, as many districts in the country remain under indefinite curfew.

Issuing a press release, UGC Chair Prof. Sampath Amrathuga assured students that no candidate will miss the deadline as the regulatory body will further extend it if the need arises due to the current situation in the country. Initially, the UGC had announced 26 March as the deadline for applications to be filed.

The UGC said it will inform the students about any changes through the UGC website and broadcast media.
