Peliyagoda fish market to reopen tomorrow

The Peliyagoda fish market will reopen for trade tomorrow after 529 people working there tested negative for COVID-19.

The fish market was closed earlier this week after a fish monger from Pepiliyana tested positive for the virus and was found to have visited the market last Sunday.

The market was swiftly closed, and the Ministry of Health proceeded to conducted the largest number of onsite tests in a single area. As the PCR tests were found to be negative, the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Ministry decided to reopen the facility.
