Five more positive COVID-19 cases confirmed

Five new COVID-19 cases have been identified in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 373.

Two recoveries since 10 a.m. yesterday bring the total recoveries to 107, with the latest recoveries from the Welikanda Base Hospital.

The number of active cases in the country currently stands at 259. This includes 98 at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), 47 at the Kathankudi Base Hospital, 46 at the Colombo East Base Hospital, 43 at the Welikanda Base Hospital, and 18 at the Iranawila Hospital. Two persons are in the process of being sent to a treatment facility.

A further 183 persons remain hospitalised on suspicion of having contracted COVID-19, of which 19 are at the Homagama Base Hospital, and 17 each at both the Negombo District General Hospital and Gampaha District General Hospital.
