The curfew in the Colombo, Gampaha and Puttalam Districts has been extended till 6 a.m. on Tuesday, while in other districts the curfew will be lifted at 6 a.m. on Monday and reimposed by 2 p.m. the same day.
The curfew in the other districts too will be lifted once again by 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
In Colombo, Gampaha and Puttalam Districts, the curfew lifted at 6 a.m. on Tuesday 24 March will be reimposed at 2 p.m. the same day.
The President's Office said that details of further extension of the curfew would be notified later.
Police has been informed to allow farmers in districts where harvesting is in progress to allow farmers to carry on their work without any hindrance.
The Government also assured that there were sufficient stocks of essential goods and there was no need to panic.
