COVID-19 cases cross 1,000 mark

The cumulative cases of confirmed COVID-19 patients have crossed the 1,000 mark today.

This is following the confirmation of 28 new cases bringing the total 1020, National Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe said.

Of the total 442 are being treated in hospitals whilst 569 have recovered and discharged.

All of today's 28 cases are Navy personnel who were being quarantined at Oluvil Centre. Following 960 PCR tests conducted today, 11 were confirmed with COVID-19, Dr. Jasinghe added.
