BASL calls for independent probe into Rambukkana shooting

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka today called for an independent probe into the police shooting at Rambukkana which left one man dead and several others injured.

BASL President Saliya Pieris in a statement said BASL is shocked and saddened by the incident and said it is the government's duty to ensure police/armed forces personnel exercise restraint.

He said members of BASL will continue to do their utmost to safeguard the people’s rights.
