The Additional Solicitor General (Administration) Sumathi Dharmawardena, PC has written to the Director of the SIS asking for clearance to gain access to the Attorney General’s Department to resume work after the department was declared out of bounds following the detection of a COVID-19 positive case there.

Dharmawardena wrote to the Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) asking to be informed if it was safe and permissible for the officers and staff of the AG’s Department to resume their normal work.

The department was declared out of bounds on Monday after a female security officer attached to the department tested positive for COVID-19.
