41 new COVID-19 patients today pushes SL case load past 400

Forty-one new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed today, bringing the total number of cases to 409. According to Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva, 30 more Navy personnel from the Welisara camp tested positive for the virus.

Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe said of the new cases 10 were from those who self-quarantined in Bandaranayake Mawatha in Colombo 12 while another person from the same location who had been moved to a quarantine centre in Kandakadu also tested positive.

There are now 295 active cases in the country with 183 people in hospital under observation for COVID-19 while 107 have recovered and been sent home.
