40 COVID-19 patients diagnosed in last 24 hours

Forty new COVID-19 patients have been diagnosed in the last 24 hours, the Epidemiology Unit said in its latest update today.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka to 460 with 333 people hospitalised. The number of recoveries reached 120 with four new patients being discharged.

The largest number of patients were at the National Institute for Infectious Diseases (NIID) at 121, with 58 in the Base Hospital at Welikanda, 80 at the Colombo East Base Hospital, 19 at the Iranawila Hospital and 55 at the Base Hospital Kathankudi.

Colombo continued to have the highest number of patients at 154, Kalutara 59 and Puttulam 37, Gampaha 34 and Jaffna 16. Kurunegala also had 12 patients.
