34 new COVID-19 patients brings total cases to 557

Thirty-four new COVID-19 patients have been identified, the Health Ministry said today, bringing the total number of cases in Sri Lanka to 557. This brings the total of active cases to a new high of 424.

Of the active patients, 138 are receiving treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), 67 at the Colombo East Base Hospital, 58 at the Welikanda Base Hospital, 55 at the Kathankudi Base Hospital, 21 at the Iranawila Hospital, and six at the Minuwangoda Base Hospital. A total of 45 persons are receiving treatment at the Navy Hospital.
