Tanuj Edward appointed CEO of Orient Insurance Sri Lanka

Tanuj Edward has assumed office as the new Chief Executive Officer of Orient Insurance Ltd., Sri Lanka, a wholly owned subsidiary of Orient Insurance PJSC, one of the giants in the insurance industry in the United Arab Emirates.

Hitherto assuming office as CEO of Orient Insurance Sri Lanka, Tanuj served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AIA General Insurance Lanka Ltd.

He counts over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry and held many Senior Management positions in Sri Lanka and overseas. Tanuj is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London and a Senior Associate of Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

Orient Insurance Sri Lanka opened its doors to business on 1 December 2011 and offers all classes of general insurance, including motor, marine, property, liability and medical amongst others. Within a span of four years, Orient Insurance Sri Lanka achieved a remarkable milestone by recording the highest year on year growth of 76% percent which is a commendable accomplishment for a new entrant in a fiercely competitive market.

The parent company Orient Insurance PJSC of UAE, has an ‘A’ rating from Standard & Poor’s along with an A(Excellent) from AM Best and provides Orient Insurance Sri Lanka with a sound financial backing and affinities with the world’s leading reinsurers. Orient Insurance Sri Lanka and Orient Insurance UAE are members of the prestigious Al-Futtaim Group based in Dubai, UAE.
