Sri Lankan student selected for Canada’s Ontario Hockey League

A Sri Lankan student, Velan Nandhakumaran, has been selected to play for Windsor Spitfires, a junior ice hockey team in Canada’s Ontario Hockey League.

He was drafted in the Windsor Spitfires on 11 April. Velan, who studies in Grade 10 at Appleby College, Oakville, Ontario, also received the Wayne Gretzky Award for the season.
