Brother ISM technical workshop for apparel industry engineers

By Ruzaik Farook Brother Industrial Sewing Machines (ISM), a Division of Tajima Colombo Ltd., recently organised a technical workshop on the latest Brother ‘Direct Drive Technology’. Over 50 participants from Sri Lanka’s leading garment factories participated at the technical workshop conducted by a technical instructor from Brother Machinery (Asia) Ltd., Singapore. A valuable certificate from Brother was presented to the participants on successful completion of the technical workshop.

As a pioneer in the apparel machinery industry, Brother organised the technical workshop with the main objective of educating and updating technical knowledge of Brother Industrial Sewing Machines among the technical work force in garment factories across Sri Lanka. Brother Group started its business of repairing for industrial sewing machines in 1908 and has been in the forefront of introducing quality and reliable machines to the apparel industry for over a century. Brother has established its original ‘Brother Green Label’ for their products in conformity with ISO 14021 and JIS Q14021 standards. The usage of restricted substances such as lead, cadmium and hexavalent chromium is maintained absolutely within the regulation values. It should be noted that Brother has always followed the RoHS Directive (restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) in providing industrial sewing machines for apparel industry excluding machine tools.
