BOI woos Pakistan firm to set up operations at Eravur fabric park

Zeitgeist, based in Lahore, Pakistan a well-established high quality garment export company recently visited the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka with the objective of exploring opportunities for investment in Sri Lanka in the Apparel sector.

The delegation consisted of Directors Saad Bin Khalid, Dr. Bilal Bin Khalid, Hashim Khalid and Daniyal Khalid.

Zeitgeist is a leading manufacturer of yarn, fabrics and garments. The high quality garments are exported to Europe, UK, and North America.

BOI Chairman Eng. Raja Edirisuriya welcomed the delegation and briefed on the investment opportunities in Sri Lanka, highlighting the advantages offered to Textile/ Apparel industry including the dedicated Textile manufacturing Park currently being developed at Eravur, Batticaloa.

BOI Director General Renuka Weerakone and the Executive Director Prasanjith Wijayathilake also participated in the discussion.

The delegation visited the Katunayake Export Processing Zone and the Port City followed by a meeting with the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF).
