Wattahena equals all-time record price for tea

An invoice of low grown pekoe grade offered at the Colombo Tea Auction held on 8/9 November under the Wattahena mark sold at a price of Rs. 850/- per kg, equalling the existing record for this type of tea.

Wattahena teas are manufactured at Ruhunu Tea Factory, Porawagama, managed by Andaradeniya Holdings Ltd.

This tea was purchased by Union Commodities Ltd. and the broker for the transaction was Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC.
