Two all time record tea prices at the tea auctions

Situated in the cool climes of the country’s hill country, ‘Nuwara Eliya Estate’ established two all time record prices for an OP1 Grade at Rs. 650 and a BOP1 Grade also at Rs. 920 at the weekly Tea Auctions conducted on 24 and 25 of September 2013. Nuwara Eliya Estate which is managed by Kelani Valley Plantations PLC, achieved this unique feat for a Liquoring OP1 and BOP1 grade in the Western High Grown category. These lines were purchased by Basilur Tea Export Ltd. and Unilever Lipton Ceylon Ltd. The sale was conducted by John Keells PLC.
