Three all-time record prices at Tea Auctions

In the High & Medium Catalogue of Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd., the following all-time record prices were established at the Tea Auctions held on 6 May.

Mooloya: A line of OPA grade from Mooloya estate established an all-time record price Rs. 500 in the Uda Pussellawa Elevation Category by improving on the previous all-time record price of Rs. 490. This line of tea was purchased by Watawala Trading Company and sale conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Broker Ltd. Mooloya Estate is owned and managed by Pussellawa Plantations Ltd. Blairlamond: A line of FBOPF grade form Blairlamond Estate established an all-time record price of Rs. 1,050 in the Uda Pussellawa Elevation Category by improving on the previous all-time record price of Rs.900. This line of tea was purchased by Imperial Teas Ltd. and sale conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Broker Ltd., the sole broker for Blairlamond Estate.

Blairlamond is a Rainforest Alliance Certified Estate, owned and managed by Uda Pussellawa Plantations PLC. Sarnia: A line of FBOPF grade from Sarnia Plaiderie estate established an all-time record price of Rs. 910 in the Uva Medium Elevation Category by improving on the previous all-time record price of Rs. 760. This line of tea was purchased by Anverally & Sons and sale conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Broker Ltd. Sarnia Plaiderie which a reputed mark for production of quality teas from Uva Medium Elevation Category is owned and managed by Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC.
