Sarada off to Vienna on implementation of Cinnamon Project

National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) President and Spice Council Founder President Sarada de Silva will proceed to Vienna shortly to meet officials of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), to discuss the final stages of implementation of the Cinnamon Project, as well as European Union (EU) funding for the project for the period 2016 to 2019, in regard to items of the project which comes within the purview of UNIDO. He will also discuss further funding for the establishment of a large number of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 22000 Certification of Cinnamon Processing Factories.

He will also take the opportunity to discuss with the OPEC Fund for Industrial Development (OFID) of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to seek funding for the establishment of a Product Development, Research and Testing Facility at the Cinnamon Trading Academy in Kosgoda.

After the above meetings De Silva will lead a delegation of NCE exporters to Vienna and Prague to seek export markets for Sri Lankan products.
