At the Tea Auctions concluded this week an invoice of New Peacock PF1 was sold at an all-time Colombo Tea Auction Record Price of Rs. 535, which betters the previous record price of Rs. 530 which was enjoyed by three estates, Carolina, New Peacock and Strathdon.The tea was sold amidst much competition through the catalogue of Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd. and was purchased by Lipton Ceylon Ltd. of the Unilever Group. New Peacock Estate is managed by Elpitiya Plantations PLC and is now established as a producer of top-end CTC teas.
